Defamation?

Is the new McCain web ad decrying Barack Obama's tacit association with Bill Ayers justified - or just defamation? We think its defamatory to Obama's reputation. Obama had no association with Mr. Ayers when the Weathermen were bombing things and maiming and killing people - including at least one police officer. By the time Obama and Ayers had associated Mr. Ayers had surely been rehabilitated at that time - and paid his dues to society. Also, his efforts showed that he tried to give back to society even more than he paid for. Is that what a terrorist does?

No - we didn't think so. So, apparently the McCain ad gets it all wrong. Or, is it just defamation of character trying to make Obama look guilty by association? We think its the latter.

Speaking of terrorists, what have you done to capture Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice, John? Or did you forget that the most despised and reviled terrorist in the world is still on the loose? Shouldn't you be chasing him, John, rather than Mr. Ayers? Isn't this a sign of irresponsible (and possibly illegitimate and illegal) campaigning? Do we need somebody that irresponsible for President of the Free World? No, we didn't think so.

John, what happened to you? You're supposed to be a hero - a war hero. Now you've turned to these ridiculous, devisive, derisive, irresponsible attacks. You used to be somebody we could look up to. Now we can't. And that's one very real result of your attack ad on Obama.
