Race-baiting & Fear-mongering = Civil War?

Was it race-baiting and fear-mongering and just shear vindictiveness that got Mc-Palin into this mess? Obviously, Ms. Palin is denying the probe report findings that she did indeed abuse her power - and has David Shuster (we seem to recall) said last night, and violated the public trust. Many politicians (in the US and elsewhere) have violated the public trust - and some have come to some very tragic and historical outcomes. Witness, Richard Nixon, most (in)famously. We admit we have yet to review the 300 page report (Whew!) - can't wait. But other matters are pressing us.

The fear-mongering and race-baiting by the Mc-Palin have revealed some deeply veiled (now out in full open!) hate and fear in some of our fellow Americans. Well, we really weren't surprised. Witness that foolish woman in the video speaking to John McCain and uttering the word "Arab" on national TV!!! John then did the right thing he had to do, and corrected the poor woman - much to her embarrassment on national TV!!! And then, he was booed by his own crowd for his defense of Obama - on national TV!!! Further demonstrations by our fellows have shown that yes, they do believe these "guilt-by-association" techniques have worked! And it has boomeranged back to smash Mc-Palin right in the mouth. Oh, we're gleefully waiting more of this sad and terrible spectacle.

Well, it would seem that Obama has a long tough road to hoe with these folks. But, he probably can't change their opinions and it would be a waste of our time. The only appeal we see that he can make is that we are Americans. We don't hate "that person" next to us. In fact, our culture, our heritage, and our traditions demand that we love them. Or else, its probably time for the next US Civil War. Remember how much fun the first one was?

Truth is, racism does exist, Right here in America, where it shouldn't. We just witnessed powerful evidence of it last night and in the previous days. We've seen the consequences of race-hating in other places in the world - Rwanda, Darfur and Bosnia-Herzegovina, to name just a few. Oh, and don't forget - the HOLOCAUST!!! Racism is a disease. It is a pandemic. It is a plague. And like any plague it must be destroyed and the causes (not the infected) need to be wiped away from the face of the earth - forever.
