EU Urges Calm, Mexico Shuts Down and More for Thursday, April 30, 2009

Please Note: We are taking the advice of Dr. Chan of the WHO under advisement. But we are also taking the advice of the EU not to panic. (Does anybody listen to Joe Biden anyway? Gee whiz...)

And Chrysler announces bankruptcy. We have been observing that train wreck for almost 30 years! It has been a strange and terrible spectacle (to quote the late Hunter S. Thompson...) watching them roll and tumble - for decades. Most train wrecks and car wrecks grind to a halt in a relatively short time. But management and labor have done quite a job in keeping it going. But, in our humble opinion, Mitsubishi (of course, the Wikipedia reports there was some controversy over possible slave labor, gee whiz...) should have taken them over, not Fiat.
